What is the Makers Market?
The UBC Makers Market is a biannual market for local artists and small businesses, hosted in collaboration with AMS Artelier at UBC, UBC PRINT Arts & Crafts, UBCAni, and VASA, with the Hatch Gallery as the AMS liaison. Our community will be holding an art market that gives YOU (and all artists and artisans) a platform to showcase your work! We can’t wait for you to see all the talented local artists and vendors who will be in the Lower Atrium & First Level of the AMS Student Nest March 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27. Come by to see some amazing handmade crafts and a chance to win awesome prizes in our raffle!

Meet the Team

UBC Artelier
AMS Artelier at UBC offers local support for artists who own or want to start their own business. We provide a safe and judgment-free space for artists to hone their craft and learn the logistics of owning a business. Artelier also provides artists with opportunities to sell their work in beginner-friendly settings to promote growth. Our main events consist of workshops, socials, webinars, and markets.

UBC PRINT Arts & Crafts
Our Mission is to inspire students' creative identity by facilitating a supportive community that shares the same love for all things arts and crafts. The PRINT Arts and Crafts Club is a student-run club that has been a creative outlet for the UBC community for twelve years. During the school year, we host a variety of creative workshops, socials and collaboration events that align with the interests of our members. We strive to build an art community where students can have a welcoming place to connect and explore new interests while also destressing from the pressure of school commitments.

Hatch Art Gallery
Established in 1970, the Hatch Art Gallery is UBC’s only student-ran exhibition space. Committed to promoting the practices of UBC students and alumni, the Hatch seeks to present innovative projects on critical subjects relevant to larger discourses in contemporary art, visual culture and theory. The Hatch’s exhibition schedule is also supplemented by a variety of special events and projects throughout the year. The Hatch Art Gallery is supported by the UBC Alma Mater Society.
